Echo Tech (On Call)

Starkey Ranch ER & Hospital offers expert emergency care, shorter wait times, and a dedicated commitment to patient well-being. Our state-of-the-art facility features an on-site laboratory, advanced imaging capabilities, inpatient medical detox, and comprehensive services for both adult and pediatric patients.

We are currently seeking a Dependable On-Call Echo Tech (Cardiology Technician) to join our team!

Position Overview:

As an Echo Tech, you will perform various non-invasive cardiology procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic data. Your expertise will support our clinical team in delivering timely and precise diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform echocardiograms, carotid ultrasounds, lower extremity arterial studies, venous reflux studies, aorta duplex scans, stress echocardiograms, and bubble studies.
  • Prepare and review paperwork and data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Record all data necessary for studies according to established policies and physician requests.
  • Interpret subjective findings and discuss results with physicians.
  • Assist with Holter monitor setups, including electrode placement and recording procedures.
  • Schedule procedures efficiently and support billing processes.
  • Maintain all equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support office functions related to data processing, documentation, and report interpretation.

Licensure & Certification Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited program in ultrasound technology or allied health with relevant training and experience.
  • Preferred: Two years of adult echocardiography experience with Doppler and Color Flow; at least 1 year as a Cardiology technologist.
  • Certification by ARDMS or Credentialing through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) preferred; must obtain within six months of employment.
  • Current BLS certification through ILCOR-approved courses (e.g., American Heart Association, Red Cross) including manikin check-off.

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately perform and interpret echocardiograms, bubble studies, carotid ultrasounds, lower extremity arterial studies, aorta duplex scans, stress echocardiograms, venous reflux studies, and Holter monitors.
  • Ensure data accuracy and clarity for physician review.
  • Communicate findings effectively with physicians.
  • Support billing and scheduling, ensuring timely and efficient patient care.
  • Maintain a professional, calm demeanor in a busy, stressful environment.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Constant visual, auditory, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, colors, and environmental hazards.
  • Must remain alert and focused during multitasking, especially in stressful situations.

Rad Tech Multi-Modality (CT/MRI)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Rad Tech Multi-Modality (CT/MRI) to join our healthcare team. As a Radiology Tech Multi-modality, you will operate our advanced scanning equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images. Your commitment to patient care, safety, and technical excellence will be essential in delivering optimal imaging services.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately position patients to ensure effective scanning of specific body areas.
  • Conduct regular warm-up sequences on radiological equipment to maintain functionality.
  • Sterilize radiologic equipment thoroughly to ensure patient safety and adhere to hygiene and infection control protocols.
  • Interpret and follow physicians’ written scanning instructions accurately.
  • Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance the visibility of internal structures during imaging.
  • Review and evaluate scans to confirm they meet technical quality standards.
  • Clearly explain scanning procedures to patients, offering reassurance and support as needed.
  • Monitor patients during scanning procedures, identifying and responding to any allergic reactions to contrast agents.
  • Maintain inventory of radiologic supplies and report any deficiencies.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately interpret images.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and medical terminology.
  • Compassion and patience in dealing with diverse patient populations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry developments and best practices in radiological technology.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Required Training and Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in each modality.
  • One year of experience in an emergency room (ER) hospital setting is preferred.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, along with one year of related experience and training.
  • Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association.
  • Multi-modality Technologists must have certifications in two (2) or more modalities: radiology (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or have completed a relevant cross-training program.
  • Must be aware of potential exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
