Full Body MRI
Starkey Ranch ER & Hospital offers Full Body MRI as a non-invasive, wellness-focused imaging exam that evaluates multiple areas of the body using magnetic resonance imaging. MRI does not use radiation and may help identify findings such as masses, cysts, organ abnormalities, inflammation, spine or joint changes, and other structural concerns.
This exam is intended for screening and wellness purposes. It is not a replacement for emergency care, a full medical evaluation, or focused diagnostic imaging ordered for a specific symptom, such as low back pain or shoulder pain.
What This Exam May Show
A Full Body MRI may provide information about organ structure, soft tissue abnormalities, suspicious lesions, spine and joint changes, inflammatory findings, vascular concerns, and incidental findings that may require follow-up.
It does not detect every condition. Some concerns are better evaluated with lab work, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, EKG, mammography, colonoscopy, biopsy, or specialist care.
When Full Body MRI Is Not Appropriate
Full Body MRI should not be used for new, severe, or worsening symptoms, including acute pain. If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, stroke-like symptoms, severe abdominal pain, sudden weakness, severe headache, traumatic injury, fever with concerning symptoms, uncontrolled pain, or any rapidly worsening condition, please seek immediate medical attention.
Starkey Ranch ER & Hospital has a fully operational Emergency Department available for urgent and emergency concerns.
Safety Screening
Before your MRI, our team will complete a required MRI safety screening. Please notify us if you have a pacemaker, implanted device, aneurysm clip, surgical hardware, metal fragments, medication patch, body piercing, or any history of metal injury. You may be asked to change into MRI-safe clothing and remove jewelry, watches, phones, credit cards, hearing aids, hair accessories, and other metal items.
Results Timeline
Your Full Body MRI will be reviewed by a radiologist. Final reports typically take 7 to 10 business days.
